Senior Automation Engineer

REPORTS TO:
Manufacturing SENIOR AUTOMATION ENGINEER The ideal candidate for the Senior Automation Engineer is a process-oriented thinker with a proven track-record in designing, deploying, and operating automated manufacturing and test systems. This employee will co-lead the architecture of automation cells given process and product requirements, review and select vendors and contractors to build the systems, oversee their deployment in Orbion's manufacturing facility, and manage their routine operation and maintenance. The Senior Automation Engineer will be a team leader who will supervise and direct manufacturing engineers and contractors to establish new capabilities at Orbion.
Responsibilities:
Architect automated processes based on product and production requirements. Lead a team of engineers and contractors to realize and implement new automated manufacturing and test processes. Define system requirements and use systems engineering approaches to create automated manufacture and test systems that can achieve goals/requirements. Develop RFQ's for specific automated testing requirements. Select and work with vendors to design, develop and install automated test systems and manage project to a successful completion on time and at budget. Identify and implement software to integrate process data from automated manufacturing and test systems. Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a U.S citizen or permanent resident. Bachelor's Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent training. 10 or more years of experience. Demonstrated strong project management skills:
Establishing and managing timelines, budget and milestones. Demonstrated ability to take automated processes from concept to the production floor. Demonstrated leadership experience organizing and motivating engineering and manufacturing teams. Experience with requirements management. Experience with automation systems such as robotics, motion control, data acquisition, and industrial communications. Keen troubleshooting abilities. Creative thinking and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills and project management skills. PREFERRED
Qualifications:
Experience with data acquisition hardware/software (e.g. National Instruments, LabVIEW). Training and experience in Lean Manufacturing principles. COMPENSATION/

Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
